Syd's All Time Favorite Chicago Restaurants

Although I love the hunt of finding new restaurants across the city, there’s always a comfort in going back to places I’ve been to a million times and LOVE.

Below are some of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I couldn’t even count how many times I have been to each one.

  • Nico Osteria: hands down my favorite upscale Italian restaurant. I love the ambiance and the food is amazing.

    • What to order: brussels sprout bruschetta, rigatoni, orecchiette and mussels. If you have a sweet tooth, the gelato is made in house and have a variety of flavors

  • Mott Street: delicious Asian fusion restaurant with a great patio in the summer.

    • What to order: the burger, oyster mushrooms with the bread, steamed dumplings, mussels hot pot. I also  love their slushy drinks!

  • Gilt Bar: Love the vibe and food here.

    • What to order: steak tartare, truffle pasta, kale caesar, french fries (their aioli is my fave!), salmon.

  • Tarantino’s: this is what I call a neighborhood gem, love the ambience in this little italian restaurant on Armitage.

    • What to order: fusilli pasta (I can't come here and not order it). The portions are huge so come hungry!  Pro tip:they also do half portion pastas

  • Publican Quality Meats: this is a great brunch spot and I love that you get to sit right in the center of a bustling butcher shop.

    • What to order: get the charcuterie board, it’s great to share and then grab a sandwich. Their menu changes often but currently loving the P.S.T club.

  • Greek Islands: my family has been coming here since I was little so it’s rightfully my favorite Greek town spot.

    • What to order: calamari, dolmades, saganaki, gyros, greek salad, rice pilaf and broiled seafood shishkabobs
