Best Patios in the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most iconic and famous neighborhoods. As soon as the weather is warm enough, the “Viagra Triangle” restaurants all open their outdoor patios. It’s a  place to enjoy a great meal, grab a drink and people watch. There are a few different patios to choose from but here’s the Fulton Femme approved list of places to prioritize.

Tavern on Rush

1031 N Rush St

My go-to patio on Rush street since the menu has a ton of options and I love the ambiance. I usually get the bellevue salad and a glass of vino. You can’t make a reservation for outside so if you want to go you can always put your name in and they’ll text you when your table is ready but expect to wait.

Nico Osteria

1015 N Rush St

If you’re looking for a more upscale experience with amazing italian food, Nico is always a good choice. Their food is amazing (Italian Seafood) and you can usually grab a seat outside. Must get their Brussel Sprout bruschetta, mussels, rigatoni, orecchiette and/or (cuz they’re all so good) cacio e pepe.  Nico is also on my list of favorite restaurants of all time, check that post out here.

Eight Bar

8 W Maple St

This is the downstairs restaurant at Maple and Ash that is located on State and Maple.  Their brunch menu is pretty small but their all day menu has more options. I’ve never had an issue getting a table without a reservation with a small group since it’s less in demand than the restaurants right on rush. Their burger and fries is one of my favorites in the city.

Gibson’s

1028 N Rush St

Gibson’s has been a Chicago staple since 1989 and is still one of the most popular steakhouses in the city. Since it is a steakhouse any of the meat/seafood options are always a good choice. Their spicy lobster cobb and lobster bisque are my fave for lunch! The bar here is always a good spot to grab a drink too.

Somerset

1112 N State St

The latest addition to the area and located in the Viceroy hotel (where the historic Cedar Hotel used to be).  Boka Group heads up this restaurant and the menu is focused on seasonal Amercian cuisine. The decor has a country club vibe and the outdoor area is cute. I’ve had their  avocado toast (yum!) and roasted salmon for dinner.
